Vulnerable Sector Query
By applying to teach English in South Korea you are applying to work with children. When requesting your criminal history, please notify the processing law enforcement agency of your intention to work with children and your need for additional clearance vis-a-vie a vulnerable sector query or equivalent. This additional search ensures that applicants for registration do not have expunged, sealed or spent convictions involving sex crimes and/or children.
Please note: In dealing with numerous law enforcement agencies in a variety of countries, processing rules and regulations invariably vary. Should you have a question or an issue please contact IPR and we will help where we can.
Canada 
Canadians should make inquiries at their designated Comissionaires office for the criminal record check. The criminal record check MUST include a vulnerable sector query.

Your criminal record check will be notarized by IPR's legal staff and with the Korean Consulate and will be included in the fees for notarizing as described on the required documents page
USA 
Americans should make inquiries at their local or state police detachment for the criminal record check. The criminal record check should include a vulnerable sector query but should the police detachment that you are dealing with not be able to provide this service then a full check will suffice.

As it is not possible for IPR to notarize American criminal record checks, you will need to have your criminal record check already notarized by your designated Apostille.
